Job completed for Universal Health Services - San Marcos Treatment Center
Completion date: August 1, 2018
Location: San Marcos, TX
Why did the customer contact us?
San Marcos Treatment Center is a 212 Bed, 65 acre psychiatric residential treatment facility.
In 2018 Xtreme Network Security was awarded the contract to upgrade and replace the critical infrastructure of San Marcos Treatment Center.
San Marcos Treatment Center demonstrated unique challenges due to the age of the facility. The treatment center was founded in 1940 and many of the original buildings have been built since 1974. Our team had to navigate small working spaces, hard ceiling and concrete walls, sometimes as thick as 2 feet. We navigated through many buildings that had not been remodeled in decades and had to maintain a fragile infrastructure as we replaced deteriorating equipment.
A few examples of equipment the Xtreme team fully replaced and installed in the treatment center include: network racks within 17 communication rooms, new Cisco Switches, 20 APC uninterruptible power supplies, 17 48-port patch panels, 300 voice and data drops, 60,000ft of Belden Cat6 cable, several thousand feet of multimode fiber, the installation of 60 Meraki Wireless access points, along with surface mounts and 2×2 drop ceiling anti-ligature Oberon WAP Enclosures.
Over the course of this project, our team worked around the clock to ensure we securely and effectively installed a system that was safe for patients and staff.
We were able to complete the project 2 weeks earlier than the initial estimated fulfillment date. This is just one of roughly 100 projects that the Xtreme Team has successfully completed for Universal Health Services.
